Previous IPhone users hardly need ay time adjusting to this new version of the market changer, and new users too shall not find it difficult to get a hang of the intuitive user interface.
The most popular and anticipated feature of IPhone 4S is Siri, the groundbreaking voice command software that is unique to IPhone 4S. SIRI takes some time getting set up, and you need to program it to perform your voice commands. For instance, you’ll have to speak some words so that SIRI understands your enunciations. Go to Settings>General>SIRI>My Info and add all the relevant information to kick start SIRI. Press the Home button and hold on to it before you hear two beeps, in other words the announcement that SIRI is active. Then, issue voice commands and watch SIRI do all the stuff for you. For instance, you just have to utter ‘call my dad’ and watch in amazement as SIRI does exactly that! Once you and SIRI get to know each other better, the functionality translates into better results. It’s very flexible and you can ask it for information (weather, stocks, points of interest, you name it) and also ask it to perform tasks for you – set an alarm, add a calendar entry, compose a message, put down a note. Apple even gave it a bit of an attitude, so when you ask it something silly (as you surely will, just for the fun of it), Siri comes back with a clever answer and a grin on its face. The practical value of such jokes is zero, but it really gives the user a sense that they are speaking to something intelligent rather than something that knows some answers by rote.
The iOS 5 powered iMessage application is your one shop stop for all the text communication you need to do every day. You are connected to all iOS 5 powered devices and can send unlimited messages to these devices, provided you are connected to a network. And of course, you can also push photographs, videos and contacts to your iOS 5 pals through this application. You can even take your conversations to different iOS 5 devices apart from digitally encrypting messages to ensure privacy. From wishing your Facebook buddy a happy birthday to discussing business with your secretary, iMessage and iPhone 4S are superb tools for you.
Previous iPhones have had this problem of battery draining too fast and surely the new one doesn’t seem to get over it with its dual core processor and 512 RAM space, but that is something we’ve all learnt to live with. And then, there are some much discussed suggestions for improving the battery life such as keeping the iPhone away from heat, preventing Overcharge (no it’s not a myth!), checking upon optimum brightness as and when required, using Wi-Fi over 3G and reducing mail checking and push notifications. They are easy to do: just follow the required path in the settings folder.
